What are the Lacs Bleus de Guizengeard?
The Lacs Bleus are three abandoned kaolin quarries in the woods of Guizengeard, a 3-kilometre walk from our house. The emerald-to-turquoise water — caused by kaolin minerals in the soil — is an exceptional natural sight known well beyond the region.
A quiet trail loops around the three lakes with several viewpoints over the still water. Officially swimming is not allowed, but the spot is ideal for a morning walk or a summer photoshoot. Our house sits so close to the Lacs Bleus that we proudly carry the name.

Within cycling distance: the picturesque town of Chalais with its Sunday market, horse riding in Condéon, canoeing on the Dronne, and many restaurants we keep coming back to.

Weekly rates from €1,190.00, all-inclusive except the mandatory final cleaning (€125). High season (July-August) is Saturday-to-Saturday; other periods are flexible with a 4-night minimum.
