Booking & payment

How do I book a stay?

Check availability on our calendar, choose your dates and fill in the booking form. We confirm every request within 24 hours by email.
How much deposit do you require?
+
30 % of the rental price as deposit, due within 5 business days of confirmation. The remaining 70 % plus the security deposit is due no later than 4 weeks before arrival.
Which payment methods do you accept?
+
We currently accept manual bank transfer (IBAN). Each booking gets a confirmation email with our account details and a unique reference. Online payment via Mollie will follow later.
What is your cancellation policy?

Up to 30 days before arrival you get 100 % refund. Between 30 and 14 days: 50 % refund. Within 14 days: no refund. You can cancel via your booking page or by emailing us.

The house & amenities

How many guests does the house sleep?

Up to 8 guests. Four bedrooms each with a king-size bed (180×200) — no sofa beds or rollaway beds.
How many bedrooms and bathrooms?
+
Four bedrooms, two bathrooms with walk-in showers, and two separate toilets. The symmetric layout makes it ideal for two families.
Is the pool heated?
+
Yes. The private 8 × 4 m pool (1.5 m deep) is heated via a heat pump and usable from May to October. Sun loungers, parasols and beach chairs are provided.
Is there air conditioning?

Yes, in all 4 bedrooms. The living area has 2 ceiling fans and large sliding doors that bring in cool evening air.
Is there Wi-Fi?

Yes, free high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the house. Suitable for remote work or streaming.
What's in the kitchen?
+
Fully equipped open kitchen with large island: 5-burner gas stove, 110 cm oven, dishwasher, American fridge with ice maker, microwave, coffee machine and grill. Dining table for 8.
Is there a washing machine?

Yes, a washer and dryer are available. Detergent not included.

Practical

Is bed linen included?
+
Bed linen is always available to add to your booking: € 40 per bedroom for towels and bed linen. When booking you select how many rooms you want — minimum equals ⌈guests ÷ 2⌉. You're equally welcome to bring your own sheets and towels.
Is the final cleaning included?
+
No, the final cleaning is mandatory at € 125. We do expect the house to be left tidy (no dirty dishes, bins emptied, etc.).
How much is the security deposit?
+
€ 500, paid together with the balance. Fully refunded within 14 days of departure if the house is left in good condition.
Are pets allowed?
+
Unfortunately not. Some guests prefer to arrive in a home where no pets have stayed before — even though we have the house thoroughly cleaned after every stay. To give everyone the same fresh start, we make no exceptions.
Is smoking allowed?

Not indoors. Outside on the terrace is fine — ashtrays are provided.
Is there parking?

Yes, free private parking for 2-3 cars on the property.

Arrival & departure

What time can I arrive?

Arrival from Saturday 4 pm. Departure by Saturday 10 am. Different arrival/departure days are possible in low and mid season — get in touch.
How do I get the keys?
+
A few days before arrival we send you a welcome email with the access code for the smart lock. No physical keys needed.
Will we be welcomed on arrival?
+
We don't live on site, but a local contact nearby is available for emergencies during your stay. For most questions you can reach us directly by phone or email. For special occasions we also like to drop by ourselves.
What should I do on departure?
+
Empty the dishwasher, take out the bins, close the windows. The final cleaning is on us.

Location & surroundings

How do I reach the house?

Address: 18 Rue des Bruyères, 16480 Guizengaerd, France. By car from Belgium/the Netherlands: ~10 hours via the A10. Bordeaux-Mérignac airport is 1h20 by car.
Where is the nearest supermarket?

In Chalais (10 km, 15 min) you'll find Lidl and Intermarché. For a wider selection: E.Leclerc Hyper in Barbezieux (18 km). The village of Guizengaerd itself has a small épicerie for basics.
What are the must-sees nearby?

Aubeterre-sur-Dronne (15 km, one of the Plus Beaux Villages de France), Cognac for wine-house visits (50 km), Saint-Émilion (70 km), Bordeaux (90 km). See our Activities page for our personal favourites.
Are there restaurants nearby?

Yes — over 10 we like to recommend. Our favourite: Le Bon Repas in Barbezieux (18 km), with an OFYR outdoor kitchen.
