We're Olivier and Kelly, and together we are the proud owners of Maison des Lacs Bleus — our holiday home in the heart of the French countryside. A place where time runs just a little slower, where the scent of the forest wakes you in the morning and where you fall asleep at night under a sky full of stars, feeling that you've truly left the everyday hustle behind.
Maison des Lacs Bleus isn't a random purchase. It's a house we had built ourselves, with attention to every detail. From the layout to the finishes, from the garden to the terrace: everything was conceived and chosen with one question in mind — "where would we ourselves love to stay?". The result is a warm, comfortable home where both rest and conviviality take centre stage.
Because this house is truly a second home for us, we visit it throughout the year. Not just in summer, but equally for a spring walk, an autumn holiday or a winter week by a cosy fire. Every season has its own charm here.
For us, Maison des Lacs Bleus is above all a place to disconnect. No frantic agendas, no pinging phones, no traffic noise — just the calm of the lakes, the silence of the forests and the sounds of nature. Here we come back to ourselves.
Sometimes we travel down as a couple, for a romantic weekend or a long week of unwinding together. Other times the house is filled with the energy and laughter of our children, who have their own adventures here: swimming in the heated pool, cycling along country lanes, roasting marshmallows over the fire. And when we can, we invite our closest friends for a few unforgettable days together — long tables full of local produce, a glass of wine on the terrace and conversations that last deep into the night.
A place that means so much to us is one we want others to enjoy too. That's why we decided to rent out Maison des Lacs Bleus during periods we're not there ourselves. Not merely as a commercial venture, but because we believe a place like this exists to be shared.
